Haven't done too much lately, but I finally put in my electric fan. No more belt squeak, yay! Its 15", fits the radiator perfectly. Also painted the engine bay all black. Washed it.
Redid my exhaust the other day. Wanted a bit deeper sound and less raspy noise. Made a pretty good choice with 5" round Magnaflow (previous one was the regular oval canister). I got rid of a bend and tucked it up a little higher, also added a flex joint to reduce some of the vibrations. The whole system now has almost no bends except a slight twist to clear the transmission crossmember. Gonna try and get a sound clip later. Also got some dual 45's coming in for another truck I'm working on, I'll post up some pictures once they're on.
Ok, so they're not on yet, but they look really nice: Gotta go hunt for a bunch of fuel fittings for my regulator now. Speaking of the regulator, check out the bling: It even comes in a fancy little bag.
The fan is just a universal 15" diameter unit from a local parts store. It isn't vehicle specific; it just happens to fit really well in this application.
Got the 45's installed. I just need to wait for my the rest of my fuel plumbing to come in and set up my throttle cable. The big K&N filters aren't going to fit so I'll probably run some little foam filters on the stacks for this truck. Regulator didn't come with any fittings, but they usually don't. Ordered a whole bunch of AN fittings from Summit so it will be pretty slick when it's done. I found a conveniently located power wire that was about 12 gauge or so and hot with the key on; I used that to power the fan.
Got a new distributor that doesn't leak: Finished up the fuel system on the other motor: This truck makes the other one a little jealous. Fired up quick and the carbs run pretty good out of the box with the distributor only set by eyeball. I ran out of gas before I could set timing for real and adjust the carbs.
