Not gonna make it, my truck runs like crap. Not sure it would make it to the store on the corner right now... especially with a hole in the radiator.

    Next time. :(

So fix it. You've got a week and a half.

Saw this guy in traffic. Invited him to come. He is bagged and didn't have to cut out the bed. Which i loved. He thought it was cool I'm so low without bags

first day i got my truck, i started it up and drive it home with my 84 tercel(god rest her soul) key, just out of habit. my friends 84 pickup key works. hell my dads 87 key works. toyota ignitions = sluts ; they will penetrate, and turn them over.

I might have it running tomorrow... but as far as driving it... who knows if it'll make it out of the driveway, much less 180 miles. We gotta set up a Portland meet in August or something. I HOPE I'll be done by then. Maybe we can get some of the NorCal guys and the So Oregon guys up. We talked about one in Canyonville, what ever happened to that one?

There's tons of places in the Portland / Vancouver area for a meet. Hell, how about the parking lot under the Interstate Bridge? Out of the way and right next to Joe's Crab Shack / Who Song and Larry's!

Came home tonight with a new 'used' head right off another '78 p/u! There doesn't appear to be any damage to it, so I am going to clean it up Saturday and hopefully swap it in Saturday evening and Sunday. I'm excited; with luck, I'll be at this meet w/p/u!

I gotta give it up to Curt, he is a die hard about making it to this thing. Everybody has issues with 30 year old anything, but its good to know that a bunch of us locals keep our rigs going and on the road. Let me know if you have any questions putting it together. With the new HG...make sure the gasket and surfaces are spotlessly clean. Call Sho if you get confused. He's done a ton of these things.

One week to go people. Get your trucks fixed and ready.

    Details:
    6-13-2010
NE 65th Park and Ride, underneath I-5 - south end of the lot
    11am be there
Bring whatever you need for a possible BBQ: charcoal, tools, food, drinks, ect
I would like to leave the area about 2-3 to head to any of the local parks for a BBQ. I'm open to any, as long as parking is plentiful and its on the water.

Alright guys. Big last minute idea. I already mentioned it to people whos numbers I have the other day via text. Lets all bring any extra parts we don't need and make a mini swap meet of it. I'm sure we all have stuff we could trade up for things we'd use sooner. I'll give a rundown here of most the stuff I'm gonna bring. And what I'm looking for. Dogfather, I'm sure your mazda buddies will want the shaved bumper. I want bags. :D

    * Hilux grille emblems, dome light covers, fender emblems, misc interior/dash stuff
    * Hilux tail lights tinted black
    * Hilux dash pad, black, few cracks - BUT ITS FREE!
    * Grant 3 spoke steering wheel
    * 2 spoke hilux wheel
    * Some various other steering wheels
    * 89-95 blue main dashboard without any of the small stuff
    * CURT: I'll bring your two steelies.
    * 92 2wd bumper - welded valance to bumper, shaved lights, center bars still there, no brackets. Still bare metal.
    * 15x6.5" Ford crown vic turbines w/ no tires
    * Hilux grille w/ driver lower corner broken out: see pretty much any of my photos before a month ago
    * 2 stainless/chrome roof racks. 1 ford, 1 Pontiac. pretty big. Perfect for wagons, some sedans, or canopies.
    * I'm sure I'll grab some other random stuff too. But all of this I know I'm bringing

What I NEED is a set of hilux wiper linkages with the pivot shafts and arms.
What I want is to get a set of RE-5 slam bags. Or RE-6s. Not really interested in any other types. I'm shooting for high air volume at low amounts of lift. I only am designing it to get about 6-7" of lift MAX. 1/4" or 3/8" valves, a water/oil trap, a compressor oiler, air tanks (fittings available and size aren't too important), that kind of stuff. Drop spindles for 85-95 I'd want to. Or 3rd gen supra rear disc parts. :D You get the idea.

So guys, bring out anything you don't need anymore. You never know what kind of projects people may have at home. Or who all may show up. Or who they know. Yada yada. BRING SOME PARTS!

And don't forget your bbq supplies :D

Wish I could make it, I could definately bring some stuff to trade / sell. Wish I got the truck up and running faster and didn't have a bunch of stuff going on this weekend.

When would be the next meet? Sept / Oct?

Probably end of July. Sooner if it turns out well. I don't mind having them often. Its not just about building a truck to show on a website, its about making real friends that can help with the build or just to bs with. Isn't that what minitruckin' is about?

I wouldn't mind a once-a-month meet, at least through the better months of the year.
