yeah i would if i had a pic after i put the tranny member in but i only took pics with it in and theres alot of space..lol..
Ill take pics tomarrow hopefully. Tonight I got the lower link mounts tacked to the frame and 18s on.
If they're telling me now that I don't have to Z the frame, then what did I just spend the last two day Z ing the frame for? I am such a freaking idiot. Why didn't I just read this thread two days ago. It would have saved me so much work. There isn't any difference between the engine crossmembers in the 4 or 6 cylinder models.
My batteries in my camera were dead the other day n its been raining for the last two days. Ill get pics up hopefully tomarrow after work. I looked under and it has a custom tranny crossmember and looks like the bottom of the engine crossmember was modified by being cut smaller.
Yeah, trimming the cross member is another trick you can get away with. It won't get you the whole 1 1/4" though.
As stated before to lay flat on the ground from front to back you have to Z it unless you raise the control arms up other than that you will need to Z it.
Yup you guys are right...I wasnt disagreeing with you, Like i said before with it layed out in my driveway which is very uneven....The frame layed front to back...I just took it down the road to a parking lot that was flat and the front of the frame is being held up only a tiny bit...I can just fit the tip of my pointer finger under it...So really it only need like a half inch, but I guess ill just "z" it 1 inch....Neway here are the pics of the frame not laying out and the modded tranny crossmember and engine crossmember.
damn weird...mine layed out all the way...my trucks crazy..i gutted out my fender wells and tubbed it in the firewall and stuff.maybe thats why mine layed but idk...this is weird..
My inner fenders are cut out plenty and firewall lip banged in a lil. The tire doesnt even come close to hitting them. The lower control arms touch the pavement before the front of the frame. Its not much, like I said, i can only fit the tip of my pointer finger under the part of rail that doesnt touch.
mybe its because i live in hawaii and the road suck more then rally racing...4x4 trucks have hard time on our roads...our roads are horrible!!!.
Hey local guys are telling me that if I run tubular lowers I wont need to "z" it... Is this true? Ill prob just "z" it though...Would save me allot of money
Im assuming the LCAs hit cuz ur not Zd. If you kno the reason for the Z then youl kno why theyre hitting
The only advantage to runnin tubular lowers is that you get rid of the strut rod... it isn't gunna change the fact that the engine x-member hangs below the rest of the frame. The advantage of tubular uppers is that they help clear the upper bag bracket, which allows more lift, which is useful when your trying to untuck a large wheel and tire combo.
