oh yeah but for a real, cheap lift, crank your torsion bars up and flip your axle and get lift blocks for the rear...

Very simple stuff to do as far as I'm told, nearly every Toyota 4x4 owner I know has done this.

Cranking the t-bars will increase your ride height, but you loose the same amount of travel in the opposite direction (you can't get something for nothing). Also, the ride will be harsher.

"flip your axle" ???? now that's the dumbest thing I ever heard.
Not only will the R&P gears and bearings not get properly lubricated, you will have 1 forward gear and 5 reverse, and you will be driving on the coast (weaker) side of the gears.

It would be much more sense and be a LOT easier to just weld new perches on top of the axle.

And get some ball joint spacers for the front.

Body lifts are pretty easy to do yourself and only make the truck taller. You don't gain ground clearence or width. A shop would probably sell you the kit and install it for around $800. suspension lifts are deffinately the way to go fro off roading though. Or if you don't want the noticable gap between your frame and body.

    $800 ??

If it takes a shop 10 hrs to install a BL you need to find another shop.

your not actually flipping your axle, you place the springs on top of the axle vs having them under it...

just do the lift on your truck, fit some 235-75r15 toyo open country......go have some fun, my 2wd takes me wherever i want to go!!!....no need for a 4x4 unless you sell your 2wd...this trend is just going back and forth!

Do what you want to do with your truck, you CAN do it yourself(the body lift)
