Since I have the same problem but alot more space is needed for me heres what I started yesterday. HD style just a few inches higher. Its still has alot of work to be done but its coming out nicely I think. The front piece isnt flat it has a slight curve to match how I cut it.

For mine we cut out some of the "X" bracing. Going to swap it for a custom fiberglass hood when I get fiberglass front fenders

 

Ya I got the driver side almost all the way done except for the curve part in the front have decided how to do that yet.

 

what mounts did you use? i have bic mounts and didnt have to do anything on the hood?

 

My trucks body dropped so I don't know if that matters or not. I was wondering could you send me pics of you 2jz swap and how did you do the wiring

Stupid question would I be able to cut the crossmember running under the oil pan and do something else with it. Also the angle on the motor looks bad cause I got the trans mount out and letting it down.
