Those pictures bring back memories. No back window, tailights held on by plastic ties, no grille. I remember having a girl not go on a date with me because I didn't have a bed on my truck. No matter though, I was driving my Toy and that is all that really mattered to me. Nice ride been following the build up for awhile.

Lol. Yeah, my lady friend refuses to ride in it just yet. She said it has to have switches and not rattle so much.

Most definitely not. I'm just worried about beign able to keep my stpid truck at this point.

We tuned it today, its as lean as it will go. We pulled the intake off while it was running to look at the amount of fuel going in. You can see it literally dumping in. Huge squirts. He said its supposed to be more like a mist.

So it failed again. He said it could be a few things. The float level, some throttle valve ro something, and he said one other thing but I forget. He said I basically need a rebuilt carb. He said I could pass an RPM test, but the load test is just killing me.

Also got pulled over and ticketed for a few things on the way home. Got a ticket for no passenger side mirror and no rearview mirror, no plates/registration, and no seatbelts. I have 30 days to fix all that or it gets impounded. Pretty awesome day. I hate my truck.

Anyone got a hookup on rebuilt Yota carbs? I can't really afford anythign right now. But I have no choice but to do whatever it takes to get it registered and not get impounded. I couldn't afford to get it back out if it got impounded.

Damn man that sucks on all of those charges and still not pass the emissions test. I remember when i took my 88 out for the first time. I got hit pretty hard too! They let me off on a warning accpet the seatbelt charge! But i guess the Ky pigs aren't as hard as where you live. The guy that bought my 88 is looking into getting a supercharger he might sell the one that is on it.he is on this site and goes by the user dodgemanwith20's or something like that. Look over on the thread i'm gonna miss her! that is where he is at!

So no passenger mirror is an offense in cali? My 93 has never had one since the day it was brand new. Isn't there something where you can register the vehicle as nonrunning or something along those lines and you won't have to register it till you have some more money. Also you might be able to get the fix it ticket extended till you actually register it as a driven vehicle.

Its called non op. Thats what its on, and thats why they can impound it. CA laws just **** you in the end.

And its legal to not have a PS mirror, IF you have a rearview mirror. I needed one or the other to be legal, I had neither. First thing I did when I got home was stick the rearview in it.

Oh yeah, do you have seatbelts? I may have some blue ones out of my truck, if you need them I can check. Im switching over to black belts so I wont be using them.

Well I got everything fixed for my fix it tickets, even wired in turn signals that werent there stock. Installed new safety belts, and made a license plate bracket. Now All I have to do is put the new carb on when it comes and get ti smogged/registered. I got my fix its signed off though.

Then I pulled it otu and parked it next to my neighbors '81 longbed with a 3" drop and Caddy wheels.

havn't read your posts in a few days and was getting worried when you mentioned it may get impounded.

glad to hear you got it all worked out. we don't have smog here in FL :D the 84 I had, I bought from Cali and it wouldn't pass smog there either. I got it here and registered no problem.
