I have a 1993 toyota pickup extra cab 4x4 dx. For the past few days its been turning over for a little bit before it starts up...never happened before. Then today, it died on me twice, and it took a little encouragement from turning over to starting. Is it the fuel pump? And if so, where is it located on this model? I heard either in the gas tank or behind the right front wheel. Thank you!

If it is a fuel delivery issue, I would start by replacing the fuel filter. I believe it is located underneath the intake manifold on the passenger side. The chances of the fuel pump causing this kind of issue are slim, when they go, they just die completely.

Okay, thank you very much. I will check the fuel filter today. How do I know if it is going bad?

Well, unfortunately, there isn't any way to test it other than to rule it out as the cause of the issue. Luckily they aren't expensive, and once done, you know that it is new.
