Did some work on my truck today. It was 45F today so it was time to get to work. I painted my seats using the Duplicolor Vinyl and fabric paint and it came out pretty good. I need to do one more coat to finish though. I tried to finish smoothing the last few pieces of my interior. It started to get chilly outside and only started 2. I decided to add a couple pictures of my 4runner front end clip. I did not do this but took pictures to show how mine was done.
the seats came out nicely, if i was to spray that Duplicolor paint on something vinyl instead of cloth do you know if it would dry with a gloss finish or a flat finish?
I had flat black but i am sure if you bought the duplicolor with the gloss finish it would be what you are looking for.
I looked for weld spots but it did look stock. My thought was the original support that was fabbed to fit the 4runner front clip. The grill does fit pretty good but there is a middle support that looks like it was bent to fit the grill. I am curious how this truck got the 4runner front clip and why.
when i change the coresuport there no way to tell it looks stock. if the headlight hole were cut out bigger then it was cut to fit the 4runner lights. but from what i can see it look like th runner core
Yeah I agree it does look like the core and grill do match up too good for it to be the pickup core. I am guessing this truck was in an accident.
I found a shift knob at the junk yard that was missing the gear numbers. So I thought i would make my own insert. I dont know if i like the brass/gold look so i might be making a new one when i get some more material. what do you think?
No it is a piece of plastic that i etched and cut out with a CO2 laser. I have many other things i have made with the laser.
So i finally picked up some rims for my truck. I purchased some used 350z rims that were painted black then painted silver. I would like to get the polished alloy look. Does anyone have any suggestions? I will post pictures in a few for everyone to see.
Here are some pictures of the rim, sorry for the ferrets they are so curious. And after i sold my Tacoma i bought a civic hatch si for better fuel efficiency.
I got a guy in boise that could make those things bright and shiny beyond anything you could imagine. Mirror finish everytime. Nice find, get rid of those completly trashed tires (feel bad for the car) and get some good rubbers.
Wow bro your truck is coming along nicely. Love all the black but i was wondering if you where going to break all that up with some other color inside? Man i wish i had a lazer. Is that the civic with the shift nob right below the sterieo instead of inbetween the seats?
Hit him up and ask. His name is Brandon Duncan he ownes Prestigious Polishing. Here is his facebook page you can see some of his work. If you talk to him mention Jeremy From the Jacksons on State St so he knows I refered you. ** Civic Si ** Polished Engine Bay Stuff | Facebook
Yep that would be the one Civic Si EP3 One of the only honda's I like, even though its basically an RSX
OK thats what i thought cause i have the black seats with the red stiching i took out of that year car. Dont care for the shifter up there though
Yeah i am thinking about finishing the door panels, shift boot and a few other things in plaid. I wanted to do the center inserts of my seats in plaid but decided against it. The SI is actually really awesome, i didnt think i would like the shift knob sticking out of the dash but it grows on ya. The seats are also amazing i really want to put them in my truck but my wife wasnt happy with that idea. haha
