ok .. so heres my plans . dont do the photoshop thing so bare with me .
    it's a 2 lever system .

basically , I want to "lay down" the rear struts . like this ..

so right now i'm in the midst of making 8 bracket mounts ...

so I can get everything "tacked" into place .. so I can measure for the leavers . I now have the links made , that fit the original lower strut mounts .

and they fit like so ......

    also have the side supports
    [IMG]

and FINALLY got the bushings figured ..

got an idea for ya, could you build your cantaleavers with an offset in them and lay your struts accross from rail to rail, they would lay side by side over the rear end. just a thought.

That was the original thought .. but , I decided to "lay" them this way .. I liked it better .

where's an update? I am about to go to work for GRT Race Cars and looking into getting a cheap old Yota to work on my fabbing skills.

I am keeping up with this thread because it is inspiring.. I like the ingenuity put into it so far. A show car is not as impressive as the work that goes into it, in my opinion.

X-mas , busy shop ... I had to kick it into the corner , and set things aside for a bit ..

shop is booking into May /08 right now , so my personal stuff takes a "back seat" to paying the bills . crap .

no .. no progress at all for the last 4 years ..
I have been building my trekker http://www.toyotaminis.com/forum/build-up-project-threads-21/trekker-build-2033/ and had to kick the 2WD out .. just not enough room or time for that matter :)

but the good news is , I'm almost done the trekker .. goes in for paint in the next month or so .. and as soon as the trekker is done , the 2wd has a new home in the shop waiting ..
hopefully this summer /fall I will get to continue on the 2WD again
