Basically you made your frame rails to bolt in the supra subframe? I always thought that was a great route. What's the width brake to brake? I would love to put that type of setup into something someday.

I was told the irs was 7 inches wider than are trucks rear end and I know from the factory are trucks are 100mm wider track width in the rear than in the front that's why I was thinking custom axles, arm's, rear cradle, and strut mounts

7" wider than what gen rear axle? Mine is 53" wide. Have a project in mind that will need something around 60" or so.

Are you sure your rear end isn't from a newer truck? My track width on the 78 is pretty close front and rear.

my 94's track is the same front and rear, i heard the actual difference in widths is .4" or something, not 100mm.

I know the SC300's had a relatively high positive offset for factory wheels (not super high, but higher than a regular RWD mindset) so if you swapped it, your current wheels should stick out further, plus these cars are wider than our compact trucks.

    thanks fellas ..
and yes , it is NOT a direct fit .. but with the wheel options we have now a days , and the custom rear fenders (+ fronts) my shop does .. the 14" wide FAT tires are gonna work :) just need to find the right backspacing

    smokin' !!!! :D

Hey slacker what have you decided to do with the brakes? Im trying to decide how and what to do with mine. I doubt the brake booster from our trucks will work with the new set up but for me I dont want to rip everything out of the lexus donor if i dont need to.

It's all good. Did you ever look into what you were doing with the brake setup?

got some work done on the weekend ...
doors off , and going to put the power windows in the Mojave build truck .
got the tranny in place and cut the drv shaft flanges so I could "mock" up a drive shaft , also reinstalled the steering column , and got the steering shaft buttoned up .
pics on the new phone , will get them up ASAP
