hey nuff, my hilux fenders lined up, and after removing them there is a 1" gap at the bottom while its setting where it should be at the top. did you try to bolt the rear top and bottom bolts, then pull the front into place? oh, and mine is an aftermarket from a fender bender.

i tried everything i could, even the old skool body guy trick of jacking the car up at the middle to make the body flex.

    still no go.

i taped over the "toyota" then cut it out with a razor pen, sprayed with some aluminum paint and tore the tape off.

took all of a hr to do em both

    hey shonuff,
finally got enough time on the computer to check out your build, good sh*t bro.
lol youd never believe how much time ive spent looking for a set o them chevrons, nothing round here.
also i reckon your chassis has been cut behind the leaf springs, may have something to do with the bed differences.
you guys are lucky over there, if we flipped our leaves or had tyres stickin out past the guards without flares we wouldnt be allowed on the road lol. looks cool

Ok so now im a bit confused. Ive been under the impression that my truck is a 76' but browsing through this section I find that the "vents" behind the doors on mine match those of the ones in here. So am I a 76? Or is the one 'vent" i have from an older lux?

If you look at Nuffs first picture on page 1 at the gas station, those larger ones are 77-78 vents, page 11 of the black beast, the small vents are 75-76

Just read through all of this for the first time...

So when you got this truck the rear shock mounts were all messed up? Did you put it back to stock as in this photo

What did you use to put it back to stock, did you cut this from another Hilux or just get some steel and fab it up yourself.

The PO of my 73 cut the whole bar out so I have to do something, I see that the stock bar runs through the frame I think, I think of just butt welding a new bar to the cut one wouldnt be that strong, Im just looking for a way to do it.

Also other stuff I read, my 73 gas tank is on the driver side and bolted to the bed which sucks, its in the way of the exhaust, and 74 is when they went to the passenger side, I remember you saying something about the gas tank door on the bed you got...

lol, this thread is a mix of 2 trucks.

for your situation, i'd recommend a couple fish plates welded to the frame, and then a bar welded in to mount the shocks to. it would work fine.
