my truck is set at 12 degrees witht the rpm at 900. toyota spec is m/t 700 rpm 12degree and A/t is 750rpm 12 degree. they tell you 700 because they want you to set timing without the centrifigual advance kicking in. but if i remember correctly it doesnt kick it till about 2000rpms. i know when i do timing belts one tooth off will make it idle fine but will have no top end. so if you truck is like that then maybe.
