Does anyone know where I can find one for an 86-87 2wd Im dying to try and get one. I thought i found some awhile back online but It doesn't look like they even exist at this point. Help
You could always wrap it. I too looked for a carbon hood and havent found one yet. This seems kind of cool- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=se126E9OnGQ
my only thing is im not really going for just the look i want the weight reduction too and we had a real bad hail storm here in AZ so my hoods super dented so im trying to get me a carbonfiber one instead of just a replacement
There's a carbon fiber place near my buddy's machine shop, I've been toying with the idea of talking to them to see what it would cost to make one. I know though, that the first is the most expensive....
what about hoods already wrapped with the carbon fiber wrap ?? has 10 year warranty I got a friend who does that around me, what would you be willing to pay for it ? Ill throw a pic up soon, it will include a brand new hood which I can buy for 80 bucks
thers a carbon shop in orange county california. ill get the nuber and website. my neighbor had a 87 with a hood and a sunroof insert in real carbon fiber. ill let you guys know.
I like the whole light wieght idea but im not a big fan of the carbon fiber look. to played out in the ricer scene i used to be in.
lol..did your truck get pretty messed up from that? We got some hail in the east valley but nothing like out west, my truck didnt get damaged at all..my Uncles SUV is gonna get totalled out, can't believe hail did the damage i saw
I tend to like painted carbon fiber.... like airplanes lol. it also protects the resin underneath from UV damage. Carbon fiber hoods... eh, should just paint it.... sleeper? sleeper with 112hp lolol
I don't know what you're asking lol. Would I paint it? Most likely. I understand some carbon fiber trim here and there, but with a minitrucker's budget, i don't think it'd be nice to recoat CF multiple times. the CF found on exotics is generally the dry type, one that would last some more in sunlight, but then, you park an exotic in the garage. Would I have a carbon fiber hood, fender, bed, and cab? haha that'd be sick, but having it in natural state may attract alot of unwanted attention (speaking of which, like my hood? j/k j/k)
