i mocked it up just earlier and it "seems" like it will be a fairly easy to put it on. im trying to see if i can find some perch brackets for the axle so i can make it a "bolt on" modification but i still have some measurements and further mock-ups i need to do before i can come to that conclusion.

as i thought it would, it will not mount over the pinion as i had originally intended to do. there are just too many things in the way, too little clearances to do that. so i opted to mount it under the pinion. it will tuck into the housing very nicely and still have pleanty of ground clearance. only issue im trying to avoid is the passenger side shock as it comes pretty close to the bar.

ill be working on this tomorrow. :waytogo:

Where can I buy Sway A-Way torsion bars?????????

All the articles I've read say that they should cost about $100. But I can only find them for $225 online.

you can get them from 4 wheelparts wholesale they used to be supa cheap back in my day but since the prerunner fad they jacked the prices up because everyone will pay it, my whites cost 95 in 1998 and 300m's were 600 in 2001, the 2wd and 4wd are different because the torsin bar on the 4wd is on the upper control arm and mounts are on the frame.

if you guys keep a sharp eye out on craigs, you can find them anywhere from as low as $50 bucks and up..... i got mine used for around $75 i think. MacRib found a set of trd one's (same thing as the saw's) for 90 bucks that were never installed so

just keep an eye out if you wanna save a few bucks. :waytogo:

on of the best investments i made in my suspension.

If so can I step up to 1T fora bigger dia. of T bar

Ive been kicking this around for a couple of weeks because I'm changing all my bushings and I was thinking this would be a great time to up gread my bars and I know where there's 2 1T's at
but it might be better to buy new just because of the metal fatigue

I too have been wondering about this as well. Been wanting to get better handling using the torsion bars but recently seen Turbo Dave's 2jz tacoma using coilovers which is what they come with stock but there general lee truck has been converted to coilovers as well and they use it to drift in. So I may end up going that route since is cheap and ill do a write up if I do go that route.

As far as sway bars im not sure. maybe 4x4 sway bars like mentioned above or 4runner sway bars.
