i grabbed a pic for ya. tires are 215/35/18

some pics of what i've had to cut so far. i gotta re notch it since it was built on 17's. i'm about 1.5" from laying in the rear. i was trying to keep from cutting the rear seat belt harness location but it's gotta be raised, which means the interior plastics will need to be modified as well :(. front is setting on the firewall and about .5" from laying. still gotta z the frame as well. lots of work..

looking sick bernie! but can i ask why are u gonna Z it? if ur only planning to lay on 18s all u need is drop spindles, raise the engine and trans xmembers and there u go. my bodied yota lays hard as hell and thats all we did. i thought i would have to Z mine before we did it but after raising everything then adding the drop spindles it layed out fully. idk i try to let people know about that. some Z it some dont.

thanks. i'm z'ing it so it will lay full frame and not sit nose up. it's only about 1.5" but i can pick it out on yota's that aren't z'd and it drives me crazy.

here is a diagram i made using a factory frame schematic that shows they need z'd to lay full frame

you are correct i will say. cause we cut everything and had it all bagged up front cause my buddy swore i could lay 18s with stock spindles. and we had that 1.5" left so after the drop spindles were added it was straight. but i will say that my truck lays on the lower control arms but if u plan to run tubular lowers then your straight. all we did was unbolt the engine xmember and raise it up as close as we could to the oil pan which i may go back and actually notch it and then we welded it up in the brackets and then cut the access off even with the bottom of the LCAs pretty much. may be not the correct way but it just seemed like alot of extra work for nothing if only plan to lay 18s on a 35 series tire. now the rims in these pics are 17s with a 45 series tire. trust me i thought we would have to Z it after doing tons of research and i even got in an argument about it with my buddy lol and in the end he proved me wrong. but like i said its personal preference. i understand some do it and some dont.

i decided that cutting the floor/rear seat area to fit sucked considering that i'm building it to haul the family.

    here's my progress

i got the front drivers tub in. clutch is being flipped to the inside, and getting a smaller booster

the swing arm of the rx-7 rear hit the frame rail before it would tuck all the way. so i made some new notches that go up sooner and a little farther back to clear everything.

made a cross member to hold the 3rd member. also gunna mount the valves off of it

i removed the cage that held the air tank, comps and valves. got it laying out in the back. it's been a nightmare keeping the rear seat 100% stock, but i have it layed without modifying it so it was worth it. i still gotta do the tranny x member and the Z
