Yea it really didn't wanna go into second at all go figure.

Swapped the wheels between the 84 and 90. Much better now but it makes it rather obvious that i need to go way lower.

The truck finally did what it was bought for. Went auto crossing today. :D

First run clocked a 48.something I got faster every run and pulled a 43.660 out of my ass on the last run. WOOT!

It was a kick in the pants and I beat a whole lot of faster vehicles. The lotus elises were crazy fast pulling off high 37 second passes so I don't mind being 6 seconds slower than the fastest cars on the track. :D

It was a pretty big track built on the infield and on the banked oval of an out of business track.

I love how people really underestimate these trucks. It's awesome seeing your truck in a sea of cars. I'm one to be different. And different can set the pace. :waytogo:

A bunch of my family was there today. They said the first couple of runs the announcer didn't pay much attention to my truck. By the last run he said I was the most fun driver to watch since I was flogging the truck so hard with no go fast parts. :D

My brother brought his 99 ss camaro with an LS/T-56 combo. I beat his best time by over 3 seconds, he was not impressed.

That was a cool vid. Your truck looked fast. I bet auto crossing is really fun. I want to set up my 67 Chevy for it. :waytogo:

Just ordered a set of 16x8's with 225/50/16's on them. Just a touch taller than my 195/50/15's so they'll roll out a bit better with 4.10's.

Nothing crazy interesting, just some polished ultra 164's and 400 tread wear coopers. I don't see a point in getting full on stickies right now since I've got a couple longer trips planned this summer and the truck isn't ready for full boogie action as of yet anyway.

I put an order together from summitracing.com too. Bell tech leaf springs, new magnaflow with inlet and outlet on the same end and all new 2.5" pipe with mandrel bends. Added an adjustable proportioning valve to the order too so I can get the rear brakes dialed in properly.

I'm going to install my drop spindles and urethane bushings up front and do a decent sized notch out back as soon as the parts get here. She's going to be silly low but everything will get clearanced so I don't get hung up on the belly.

The fun is about to begin! :D

Thanks it is a hoot for sure. Once its down another 3 or 4 inches with new exhaust and shoes it'll be a whole lot more fun. :D

Yea sometimes the course is a lot tighter but they find that adding a bit of speed shows who can drive better than those that can spin the steering wheel faster.

I thought about putting power steering on my truck for about 3 seconds. Then I adjusted the manual steering box and left it. Power steering is nice but I much prefer the feel of manual.

Gawdammit... The wheels were out of stock in the warehouse and they didn't bother to notify the store they just didn't ship them. My tires showed up though, not that they'll fit the new wheels anyway. He did some digging and I've decided on either "soft 8's" or the same ultra 164's either of which in 16x10 since they were the only two wheels with the right backspace. Going to step up to either a 235 or 245/50 too. I'll know monday. :D

The power steering isn't bad, either way the trucks are still using a ball and pinion setup, there's going to be that soft feeling, otherwise I would've went manual...

A rack and pinion setup would cut the slack and give a better response anyday.

I like the manual steering a lot more than the power for "spirited" driving but for day to day the power steering of my 84 is nice.

I've thought about doing a supra rack conversion but that isn't possible in the class I'm looking to run in autocross.
