So I got my 22r engine back from the machine shop. they resurfaced the block, honed the bores, cleaned up the crankshaft (crank didnt need to be resurfaced), cleaned the rods and installed new pistons on rods, resurfaced the head, valve grind, replaced the valve seals. I also bought the full rebuild kit from them and and a new timing cover. I built a chevy small blocks a few years back, but I'm new to the 22r. I just want to make sure I dont miss anything putting it together,,checking clearances and torqueing everything to specs, and also any tricks of the trade putting together the 22r.
The 22r is a very simple and straight forward motor. just take your time, double check your steps and you'll do fine... Make sure to use a good sealing silicone on all mating edges of the timing cover, they tend to leak at the mating edges to the block.
