Swapping the carrier is an easy job, but the brakes will need re-bled, which I find tedious.

If you're quick to put vacuum caps on the hard lines so the master cylinder doesn't drain odds are very little if any bleeding will be needed.

I look forward to rear discs so once the system is bled it won't have to be done again. :D

NashMan, I need some Herman's Dark Lager from V.C.I. Brewery....

I'm sure I can order it from them, but haven't looked into it yet. I just came back from Port McNeil again a few weeks ago.

That's awesome. Don't worry about it though. I don't want to inconvenience you with that. It'll make it all the better when I finally do get around to ordering it.

I wish I had a decent brewer close to me. Thanks!

Hey lit. I see you have ac. Where's your ac vsv and the lines. What about the spring loaded idle air ac adjuster..

Yes, I have them hidden behind the intake plenum. They are both still there.

The fact that the factory ECU is gone hasn't changed anything as far as how it works. It runs off of the AC amplifier board, which happens to accept a tach input from my MS2.

You have to supply the amplifier with a tach output from the MS. You'll have to configure one of your programmable outputs to a tach signal, then route it to the wire that was the original tach input to the AC board.

Do you have a factory tach on the dash? And does it currently work?

But the AC doesn't work? I think they are tied to the same tach signal wire.

For the speedo, you'll have to check the sensor wiring. It runs separate from the ECU.

Yeah, but you have to send a tach signal to the board. I tried just wiring it hot all the time, but it didn't work with that.

I could be wrong, but in the research I did, I found that the AC amplifier needs the tach signal to determine whether the clutch should be engaged or not. At very low rpms it turns off to help the engine recover, and at very high rpms it turns off to keep from over pressuring the high pressure side. The pressure switch on the high side comes into play regulating pressure the rest of the time that the tach signal is acceptable.

Again, the design of these boards could be different, but I couldn't get it to work any other way. And there may be different boards in different years of our trucks.

All a tac sinale is pulsing ground signale in a restance range sor the tacks coils to sweep in proper motion.

ps have ya installed that cluster i sent you and how did you get the tac to work since now its on tiwn fire coil aka waste spark

did you us a msd tac boc

Ha! I haven't even messed with it yet. It's on my bench, I'm kinda waiting for a time when I don't have much to do and it's too cold to play outside with the kids.
It's still pretty nice here, it's been around 20 degrees or so. Starting to get cooler though.
