    Not bad at all, Lit.
I think a decent sized intercooler to match compressor output would do you just fine, anything better than what Toyota offered the 22RTE's, right?

I can only imagine what 10psi on a 22RE with a built bottom end with a standalone could feel like.

    Thanks!

Yeah, my local MS guru has been a great help with tuning and getting everything dialed in just right. He commented the other day that it's probably the fastest 22re in the county (which probably doesn't mean much). But it was good to hear someone else confirm that it's making decent power.

The awesome thing is that this new turbo is so LOUD.

I also ported the wastegate on this turbo right off the bat. One of the big problems with an internal wastegate and higher boost is boost creep and spikes. This should solve those problems before they start.

My younger son was having a bit of fun spinning the internals when we unboxed it.

And I also upgraded the coil from factory to a MSD Blaster SS and got the boost solenoid hooked up to MegaSquirt so that I can control boost from the laptop.

What would you want for it +shipping, what and what did you use to set it all up, It'd be great to know all the things you did to make it work

if they have oil in them or nice resuied it will be ok i guess but still not the best idea

Hmm. Shouldn't be too long for the dyno. Maybe a month or two. Still need to get the water/meth system bought and installed.

As far as not spinning them dry? Not a worry in the world. I know how they are built. Spinning one by hand (even if dry) couldn't damage the bearings or the seals. Maybe if you spun it up with compressed air... But still doubt it.

Read up on reputable turbo info, and you'll find that almost all oil leaks past the seals are due to problems with oil backing up in the return line. The seals are more to keep the exhaust and intake pressures out of the oil cavity than to keep oil out of the intake or exhaust.

Anyway, I think that for the time being I'm going to shelve the old turbo just in case. I'm sure that even if I tried to list everything to do a complete install, I'd forget a few things. I just did a lot of reading and learning about engine management, exhaust and intake setups, fuel, and ignition info. This was really a learn as I go experiment.

    The wastegate is internal.

Most definitely. I drove the whole way there and back with the AFR's fat as hell and got 21 mpg. I need to do a bit more highway tuning and then that number should be quite a bit higher. It is so satisfying to be able to be doing 70 and just move over and pass someone without hesitation.

Gotcha! I read ported too quickly and thought you ported it off as in external.

    The setup looks great!

I wonder how fast your 70-100mph is, so you know, just in case you ever needed to pass someone :D

I'm not sure about the times. I do know that with the auto trans, it'll do 85 mph in second gear...

If I'm right, theoretical 4th gear should take you to 187mph with 3.73's and stock tires haha

No, but that's turning the motor to 5500 rpms. I might be mistaken, but I've done it more than once. I put it in drive (overdrive off) and get on it in second gear, it winds up and doesn't want to shift until I let off just a bit. It'll just bounce off the rev limiter I have set in MegaSquirt. Once I install the dual springs and titanium retainers I got recently, I'll raise the rev limiter.
