The first pics are just the raw MDF, then wrapped in fleece. Just have to resin and shape them.

This is as far as I've gotten. Going to lay up some body filler this weekend and start prepping for paint.

If you decide to sell your old ones I call dibs. I wish I had the time and skill to make something like that. Looks real good.

How are the mounted to the door panel? Screws through the back? Or clips?

I haven't completely decided on everything yet. I'd kinda like to paint them to match the outside of the truck. If I do that, then I will add some chop mat to the inside of them. I still need to sand, fill, and finish the outsides anyway. If I go another route for covering them, then they are plenty rigid the way they are. They will be mounted to the door trim from the back, with a fastener into the door behind the 5 1/4's.

So that's how you get some real sound into these small cabs. Nice.

I would also like to know.

Hate to dig this one up for you again, but an F20C (honda S2000). or a 4age, (mr2) are great engines. especially the f20, who makes a four cylinder that makes 240 horses N/A??? Honda does. And you can either get a 16 or 20 valve 4age, but the 20 valves come with ITBs stock so there pretty well impossible to smog. Just those pipe dreams ive had. lol

On the audio system, what is the RMS wattage on your mids/highs amp? And how exactly do you mount those MDF speaker frames on the door? did you cut out the bottom of the panel or what?

I've considered a few of those engines for possible swaps.

No, to mount them, I screw them to the stock door panel and use the original style "christmas tree" clips. I will then add a fastener or two behind the drivers to control the extra mass located there.

My components are getting 185 watts RMS @ 2 Ohms. It's a 4 channel amp, so there should be enough power going around for the mids/highs.:)

The monoblock for the sub was originally rated at 1200 watts @ 2 Ohms, but the power supplies went bad and I've had it rebuilt by an acquaintance. When he was done, it dynoed at 1100 watts RMS @ 4 Ohms, but is still 1 Ohm stable. He just didn't have a 1 Ohm load bank to test it with. If I were to run it at a 1 Ohm load, we figure it'd be somewhere between 2000-2500 watts RMS.

I'll get more pics up by next weekend. I've been working 56 hours a week for the last month or so, haven't had much extra time to work on the truck.

That's gonna be a kick ass system, Just make sure when you build the box for those subs to do it right. I had a cheapo system in my camry in highschool and it was just a pioneer premier 150RMS mono on a sony explode 12. But my brother (audio genius) designed and built a ported box for me. I learned that the right box can do everything.

Are you running more batteries or a bigger altenator for that setup?

One Yellow Top Optima, and soon an HO alternator. It's been fine for three years now. With the exception of the new doors, the system has been installed for a while now. I run one 10" Eclipse 88100 in a sealed enclosure. The enclosure is built into the larger side of the storage bin under the jump seats in the back. They have been removed though....

This is when I ran the Zenas sub. It's been finished out now and I'm on to a newer sub.

I like the way you have that thing sunk in there. I'd love to hear it when your finished.

If you could take pics of how you mount them, that would be hecka cool.;)
