Ok, I'm planning on getting an alignment soon and currently I have one torsion adjusted a little higher to compensate for a lean I bought my truck with... Should I even them out before an alignment or leave it? I'm hoping the 1" lean is a bad camber angle on one side, since one upper control arm is shimmed and the other isn't. Just not sure if I should even it out and hope for the best before bringing it in, or leave it.... I'll probably get a lifetime alignment just to be safe.
adding shims = adding camber. removing shims = removing camber. Get a lifetime alignment. I've been in more than 5 times already, that covers the cost of a lifetime at the 2 visit mark.
You'll want to get the alignment at whatever height you plan to leave it. If you like it level, leave it that way. They'll align the toe, camber, and caster to the height you bring them.
I guess what i was trying to say is that I THINK the drivers side is "1 higher because it has positive camber and the passenger side is within spec.... So having the Passenger side torsion adjusted higher to compensate for that "1, will that affect there ability to get the drivers side within spec? IDK if that made sense....
id even the truck out and see if they can get the driver side back into the same spec as the passenger side, or vise versa.
No, it won't effect their ability to get the alignment right. Unless they are jacked all the way up or all the way down. Level it up and get it aligned.
i highly doubt the 1" difference is a camber issue. the torsion is a spring. springs sag after a 26 years, and not evenly. get it level side to side and have it aligned.
