Just did mine about a week ago, I had to disconnect the 4 bolts on the upper control arm to get the shock out. Could have been because who ever installed them last Beaty the crap out of them. They looked like someone took a hammer to the side of the shocks. :/ but all in all a pretty easy to do project...
how much did they run u for? i want to do my front shocks also but my buddy said he'll help me do some coilovers aswell
at advance the kyb a just are about 70 bux each. Coilovers would be cool. i ordered the load adjuster 70 bux for both shocks and they are alot stiffer than the drop shocks i got on there now. and shorter too. im running 3" drop arms and 2" spindlers i got my torsion at about3.5" of thread.
Sojayota can you post up pics of your truck w/ the setup. Would love to see the height. Also how is the ride now w/new shocks.
i will get some pics up soon. havent got to drive it yet since im installing powersteering. the ride wasnt bad at all with my stock shocks. but i got 14x10s put on and i was rubbing when i his a bump and making sharp turns. i rolled the 4x4 fenders and pinch weld. might go with some more camber ha
Yeah there's gaps i just put that grill on a few weeks ago .I've thought about filling it in. But I kinda like it for now ha
Thanks roach, I thought it looked a little different. As far as front shocks are concerned I'm trying to come up with a cheap Coilover conversion that will be bolt on. That's coming after my rear disc tho just snagged some calipers yesterday
looking to get rid of some unwanted body roll on my 04 hilux mini... stock torsions on the front i think, wound down a little. i'm getting a bit of body roll around corners etc, what would be the cheapest/most effective mod to reduce this? new springs/shocks or both? how much are we talking? keen to make it corner a little nicer as Ive got a good set of tires on there already.
Does anyone have a pic of these shocks? The reason I'm asking is because when I look them up, I'm seeing a shock with a design that only has the holes on one end. The other half is just a threaded section of the piston. Like this..... @mprtftr You're right those shocks wont work. idk about using camaro shocks in the rear but i know a bunch of guys us air/adjustable shocks and also they sell load adjusting also. But the load adjusting might raise u an inch. right now im just using stock shock and monoleafed. might go airshocks
