I replaced the VSS Vehicle Speed Sensor...
The dealer wants at my wholesale price $170.00 so i bought one identical on ebay for $15.00 FREE SHIPPING.. it works the same.. the same size.. the same diameter.. same length..Same gear..
only difference is that the personality plug on the original is at 90 degrees whereas the aftermarket one is straight...
While I was down there i went ahead and replaced the gear oil.

    Here is the original:

Here is the aftermarket one at $12.00

I finally got this mod to go right..
I had run into so many issues because the butcher that owned the truck before yanked the radio out without removing the screws..and just broke the dash...

Anyway it wasn't an easy task as Roni's AssYriaNrocKer because he did it on a 4Runner and it is just built different in here and the bracket for the radio and tray is bigger so it would be more accommodating.. i did my best and it took me 9 continuous hours to complete the job..

    Here it is.

    Before:

I used paint sticks to get it to line up and multiple holes... what a mess !!!

I had to do more trimming of the back portion of the coin/cup holder and i will upload a better pic with the added cuts so it will fit in the mini.

Here is the finished product nice and flush...
    What a Mission !!!! Argghhh !!

Did you buy the VSS from EBay ?

Did it work for you ? Does it read the speed on your speedometer ?

I put a HILUX chrome emblem on my 1993
The original ones are much smaller and not very appealing so I went with a newer model one.. it looks fine i think . I thought about putting the smaller ones on the fenders but I am still not certain if I want to do that.

I also replaced the headlight plug because the old ones were not grounding right causing my headlight not to shine bright
    [IMG]

I also added some Blue NGK wires and a Siren that is police issue so i am sure that when the alarms goes off it will make a piercing sound.

I just installed the best 8" AC Condenser fan money can buy.. it was a simple install.. just had to modify the front grille just a bit and it went in really well.

    Fan was $28.00 FREE SHIPPING
    [IMG]

To be mounted in front of the AC Condenser:

This is just a mock up of where it would go:

This is where i had to cut into the grille..

This is after the initial cut with a Dremel tool:
Used the Dremel to grind the remaining material off the back part of the grille:
The front of the grille..Looks great !

The grille sits tight as it should:

I had to modify the bottong screw from Buttonhead screw to countersunk screw for added clearance:

    Ready to install fan:
The P ties to secure the fan to the condenser:

This part was grueling.. I am a big guy to fit my hand between the Radiator and Condenser to secure the end tabs to Pties.... had alcohol and Hydrogen Peroxide and Neosporin close by:
    Way down there:
    No words:

Here is the fan all wired up but i made an error.. since the fan is mounted in front of the ac condenser it will be pushing air forward at about 700 CFM :

I had a blonde moment and reversed the polarity so if you order this fan keep the black wire Ground and the blue wire will go to a fuse , relay and the positive lead switch on the AC Compressor motor
    [IMG]

This is the finished product and it fits great under the '93 Hilux front chrome grille:
    Great clearance:

    *** CORRECTION *** :

    I need to make a correction ...
The 8" Fan is configured as a Puller because it is supposed to mount on the inside and pulls the air through the condenser. The Polarity can be reversed as a Pusher mounted on the outside or in front of the condenser to push the air through the condenser.

Since we are placing the fan in front of the condenser then you want to set it up as a PUSHER so I did wire it up correctly.

Blue wire to ground and Black wire to Positive (+) Lead.

Here is where you connect the Lead Trigger wire to the Positive wire switch that goes from the Harness to the AC Compressor via a Wire tap connector. Just make sure to use P ties to keep the wire from dangling to close to any moving revolving parts.

    I have a comparison question:

    I have a 1993 Toyota Hilux....
I am pretty handy with fabricating and carpentry.

I am going to make a ported enclosure with an 8" Subwoofer and these are my options and wanted your opinion between Kicker, Rockford Fosgate, JBL or perhaps Alpine

    Kicker 10C84. 8" Comp 200w 4 Ohm

    Rockford Fosgate P2D4-8 Punch P2 500w 4 Ohm

    JBL GTO804. 800w GTO Series 8" 4 Ohm

    Alpine SBR-S8-4 4 Ohm

    Any advice ?

I replaced my burnt out Electric Speedo Cluster with one i just bought.. I had 167,400 miles when it broke and on the replacement cluster I adjusted the odometer to 168,000 so i can be back on track.
I followed a thread that i saw on Yotatech forum page.

Took apart the cluster and removed the odometer.

Carefully removing each white gear with a needle nose plier.

Here is the end result... it took me less than 20 minutes to accomplish this feat from beginning to end.

I was thinking of selling my 15" CenterLine Wheels Scorpions and then thought what if I could polish them first and see what happens. So i took a 1500 grit then a 2000 grit wet sand paper then i polished it on my bench grinder with a polishing wheel of course AND Ryobi #5 Green Paste stick from Lowes.. and I also used in the nooks and crannies Mothers Aluminum Mag wheel polish..

And it came out like this.. check it out !!!
