Ok. Cooling system, check. Fuel, Check. Turn the key and VROOM. It Runs! Got it running about 10 o'clock last night. I have 1 fuel leak I need to fix, bleed the brakes, bleed the clutch, get some fans and drive this bad boy. WooWoo Oh, and the neighbors would probably appreciate it if I got some exhaust.

You will for sure have to cut out the inner fenders. I would say yes the firewall too.

    _____________________________________________________________________

Well, I got some bad news. I drove the truck last wednesday to a cruise night and just as I arrived the engine bay engulfed in flames. Thanks to all my friends there the fire was put out and the truck was saved. The dash/harness/ac/windshield is all ruined. Along with other small knick-knacks. I got 3rd degree burns on my hand from pulling the carpet out and have been in/out of the burn center here in Baton Rouge. I got to get myself fixed, and then I'll get the truck back going. If it wasn't for the help I received from other guys at the cruise, this one would have been lost. I definitelly can't say thanks enough.

Oh man. Looks like more work to do!

Do you know how the fire started? I would guess it had something to do with the fact that you live in the Arizona desert.

it takes skill to do some work, and everyone is good at certain stuff, so why not help each other out? what goes around, comes around.

Big Update. Haven't been on in a while. But here's a run down. After the last show, I threw the chassis away and started over. 2x3 backhalf, tube work, nothing too fancy. Set-up for 20 and 22 Centerline Smoothies. Got it driving, then the fire. Now it is painted, Right hand drive, new 350 small block (4 bolt main, little port action, Comp 262 cam, edelbrock performer and 750 carb). Still working on getting her driving again. If you have any ??'s hit me up.

Finally home 2 weeks after the fire. It took me 1 week to get going again, over a month to fully recover and heal. I had 3rd degree burns on my hand and minor burns elsewhere.

Told my girlfriend we were going a date. Then we sawed the windshield out with welding wire. She wasn't as happy as me, lol. And removed front cap.

And started sheeting the firewall. My air-shears aren't working, and then I smashed them with a sledge, so I'll have to get another pair tomorrow to continue.

After work I went to my friends shop to get some pieces made for my dash. I'm building my own gauge cluster, these are cnc cut from mdf. 1 ring will mount to dash, one will hold gauges, one is the trim ring. They will be painted. I'm hoping to get some of the glass work on the dash done this weekend.

    Hmmm, two steering boxes
    [IMG]
The steering box I got from Aus is from a 93. My truck is a 92 but sits on an 87 frame. The 87 idler arm doesn't interfere as much with the v8. Toyota frames are mostly drilled for LHD and RHD so I sectioned a piece of the frame from the 92 and put it in the 87. So cut, fit, cut, bevel, Tig. Then I put the third mount and it fits great. I have to drill one more hole to mount the idler but its all there.

Painted intake and firewall and put wheeltubs in. Paint is ok for being done in the garage, got a little trash and some orange peal but I'm going to buff on it a bit this weekend. Also paintin the rest of truck this weekend. I'll update along the way. Going to work on finishing out the coresupport also, it needs some work.

And that catches us up to now. I dropped the new engine in last night. I made the new engine harness and modified the interior harness. I'm going to work on the core support sheetmetal this evening and I'll get more pics.

And for anyone who is wondering all of the work was done in my garage, except painting the exterior which I did at my dad's shop. I did paint the firewall and wheel tubs and small stuff at the house though. I have a DeWalt grinder, Miller Mig and Tig, and Sawz-all. So no insanelly special tools or anything.

In fact the only special tool I have is a rear-end narowing jig. I can do yotas and chevy's. I narrowed mine 8 inches:eek:
