More updates. Got the floor finished. Need to finish welding the back wall, and do the cab supports underneath. Does anyone have pics of reinforcing the cab supports? -Ryan
Nice work! You did a really nice job on the filler plates! I like the angles.I'll do the reinforcing on my body mounts this weekend and get some pics up after that. I still haven't done mine...
Well I put in about 5 hrs after work today. Got the driver's side cut and moved the clutch (Finally...). So here's the pics: First off cutting the cab for the wheels. Toyotas make 18's look huge...hahaha Then I went and relocated the clutch. Everyone does it differently, but this is the way I chose. I pushed it up into the cowl, right under the wiper linkage. Gettin to it. -Ryan
looks good bro. i like it. just be careful on hard launches and 1st to 2nd shifts if you are still running the stock axle size and tranny. lol. ka boom!
Another update. Got the driver's side mostly finished. Made way for the wiring and put the engine in for ****s and giggles. It'll come out tomorrow and then go back it with the trans.
worky worky So its been a while but I finally worked on it. I got the trans tunnel worked out, just have a few bits to finish welding. Then I need to finish the floor by the wheels, and finish welding the back of the cab. I can't wait to get this thing back on the ground. I feel so close, but so far...
maybe a dumb question but since you had to build a tranny tunnel and did a body drop, would it be a smart idea just to put in a entire new floor ? so that way you can have an all flat surface and it would be a ton easier to build whatever brackets you may need for seats and stuff.
with flat floors, you have to do more bracing underneath. looks clean, but its alot more work. the stock shape with all the ribs and bends adds alot of strength with just the metal.
plus if im not mistaken, all ur really doing is just adding some odd inches to the length of the tunnel (well thats one way other than building a new one) and the floor so its kiinda simpler to use the stock floor
Yes, I'm using stock arms upper and lower. Lowers were cut and plated for the bags. I only had to rework the trans tunnel where it met the firewall because the v8 bellhousing was so large. So it was only a small area, not too bad. I am running 92 Nissan 240 buckets which fit the truck almost perfect. Bolt into the outside front mount, then I put nut-certs for the rest. But they fit the floor good. -Ryan
sweet. i like those seats. my friend has a 240. comfy stuff. post pictures when you get them installed.
