its actually a direct fit no mods needed all bolt holes line up you just swap out the old and in with the new

Update : looks like I'm doing a 3rz swap. I just picked up a 2000 Tacoma that rolled for 650. Paid 80 bucks to tow it home. This truck got some goodies. 488 f n b with locker in rear. Tb spacer Downey headers. Guy said its been sitting for 3 years last started it 2yrs ago I put the battery from my truck in and she fired right up. Stoked so I'm gonna start tearing it apart tomorrow.

 

any updates on your truck? end up doing engine swap?

Yeah he swaped the motor and ended up doing a solid axle 4wd swap

And yeah he made the truck 4wd with a straight front axle like the 84-85 4x4 pickups

Edit: so now imagine the same truck above, but now its lifted, 4wd, with a solid front axle, and of course a 2.7 tacoma motor in it

 

oh crap....from one extreme to the next...thats crazy.

Haha yeah its kinda extreme but makeing 2wd trucks 4wd with solid front axles is kind of a normal thing around here
