I'd rather have the stands for the Toyota calipers. The Wilwoods are expensive! So I'm down for a set. I'll PM you a note in a minute. Chip
The cost per caliper is about the same between the OEM's and the Dynalites, unless of course you have cores.
I just did it all myself and got a local machine shop to help me. It's not very hard for a machine shop to do. I made a simple design. Just a thick piece of steel with 4 holes and an offset. And a mirror image of it equaling 2 pieces of steel.
Liteneon knows this guy (MTB68TOY) well, they've work on projects together. Also his email is in sig, send a message.
Only a bit. I think about $50. I had just given the dudes a mocked up version (welded nuts to a chunk of steel) and they made up the nice version. It ended up being off by a tiny tiny bit. I had noticed when I got the brackets home. So I took a drill bit and reshaped one of the holes a lil bit. It didn't bother me to do that. It still worked great for me.
I think that I have one set of the original stands. I will check. If you check out my first write up on the mod, you can see how I built my prototypes.
Darn, I just checked and they aren't where they used to be. If memory serves me correct now, I think I may have given them to a friend of mine, sorry.
judging by a post in the other thread on these stands it looks like they were made by CNC Machine Shop | Custom Waterjet, Plasma, Laser Cutting | eMachineShop.com Hi Michael, The order status information you requested: --------------------------------------------------------- Order # | Status |Estimated date of receipt --------------------------------------------------------- 168746 Shipped 7/24/2007 Function of part: adapt a larger brake caliper File name: CSfinalTHIN100mm.ems Machine: 991. I would just check with Mike first. This is technically his intellectual property, and while he will probably agree, ask. Just to keep everything on the up and up....
Lol!! Well well... I guess I will finally get an order of these made Since no one will make a deposit or get a group buy together I'll cough up the $450+ this cost to get 10 pairs made... Oh and just for reference... Emachineshop wants $200+ each if you order just two... Thus I make an order for 20 which brings the price to around $50 a pair... (I sell them for $75 shipped) I just emailed emachineshop about a reorder, they got back to me with a phone number, I'll give them a call tomorrow... I has taken about 3 months to get the last two orders
Keep us posted. I'd still like to investigate an option using an OEM hat type disk off of a 5-lug Celica as that might be cheaper. But that cost savings might not be worth it if I had to fabricate brackets. A bolt on is always so nice. This is the Celica rotor I was thinking of looking at. This is from the NAPA web catalog. NeW OrDER!! Well, the good news is... I submitted a new order! Bad news is that unfortunately the economy has changed as with the material pricing list for emachineshop... Bottom line I'll need $100 shipped a pair this time... Should take about 4-8 weeks I made a paypal button for you guys, follow the link below.... Limited number available...
