And I'll order the lce degree kit to get the cam in. I want to see/ use their mount plate.

I've never done it before but seems to be a must to get full potential and less risk to the motor. Looks to be doable as well.

    More money and reading..

ah! so with that, you don't need the whole dial gauge setup on top of tbe valves?

totally. I couldn't jusgify buying that whole kot to use once. And now that my engine is in, I'm not sure the degreeing wheel will even fit.

The degree wheel is designed to fit with the motor in. It's not to big.

Oh snap, I just checked out the LCE instructions, and it looks like you don't even need to take the pulley off. That's great!

You'll have to let me know how it goes, this may be in my future. I know that my block was decked slightly during my rebuild, so I assume it does need some adjustment.

on another note, what rods did you end up going with?

The crank pulley I got has the degrees on it. I won't even use the bolt on degree wheel. I'll just adjust my pointer to my true tdc 0 when found.

It would be way more accurate with the bolt degree wheel so I might end up using it.

This block is stock from 87 4runner. I still am looking for rods and waiting to build a block with the pistons I got from you. Basically mocking up everything with this block BUTI wonder how much we can put to this stocky before it goes poopy.. haha

from my experience, the 'poopy' depends on the build. Whatever you do right, the engine can handle.

My advice is to use the wheel, seems to be the best calibration to use.

Installing fuse box and hand throttle in my 4runner. Getting ready for the drive. our turkey hunting trip is 6 hrs away. Plus driving from west Washington to Nevada is a hip breaker. Hand throttle should let me stretch from time to time.
Fuse box is so I stop jumping other fuses and popping them at the least convenient times lol.
Kill switch in line with fuse box so the truck won't start without it being flipped. Fast ignition wiried to the new box along with the o2 gauge, 12voltguy rear window relay, the screen, and rear seat heater.

    77 again soon...

How are you liking the FAST igniton? I've tried to run it a few times, but always ended up with a stumble during acceleration with it.

Never had that problem with the fast ignition.hmm. That's the 3rd one I've installed. Love it with the mixture control.

Ok so I messed up and bought the wrong tdc indicator. Disregard that part number.
Should have checked that 2 weeks ago when it came in. Kick my own ass.

Buying a kit from stinky ebay that has the 10mm 12mm 14mm threads. The the one I bought is 14mm threads, which looks very close to hole size but doesn't thread in.

Can anyone confirm a tdc indicator for the 22r??
Or thread? Besides m14x1.25. I can't find one that size... Must I turn new threads to this tdc indicator? I want to be precise. No stick or screwdriver in the hole. No finger over the hole method..

    Anybody?

I ordered a m14x1.25 die. Hope that's right. I'm gonna make this tdc tool work.

Have you tested the hand throttle? Where did you position it?

Got the die and tap. Turned out the thread on that tdc tool was correct just had a buggered up thread on it. Fixed. Will set up with my indicator soon but looking at just by eye the pointer definitely needs adjustment.

I mounted the hand throttle on the Tcase shifter.
I works fine but it's really wierd driving without my foot on the pedal. I'm swapping the lce throttle body from my 4runner to the 77 build. I'll install the the cable to the stock throttle body with a bigger clamp than what was with the kit. So there is no possibility the clamp can go thru the linkage... I'll post a pic of what it looks like now.

Here's my 4runners throttle set up. Sorry it took so long erwin.

And some other powder coated goodies for my thermostat housing and wife's 4runner. We just pulled the motor out of it and getting ready to put this sunwest rebuild in it.

Here's how I'm getting it done without buying the lc degree kit.

Need to set my valves before I proceed but wanted to make sure I could do it with the intake on.
