i heard the same, that when the trucks came in from japan to the west coast, it was just chassis and cab, and the beds with the flushed look were added on site.

my question is when i swap out my jap bed on my standard cab 2wd, can i change it out with an extra cab 4wd cali bed? is there a difference in length or bolt patter? do i have to find a single cab 4wd to do a direct swap?
