I swapped mine out, and found that the wiring harness already has a signal wire for the tach. all I had to do was adjust it for the 4 cylinder engine and it was good to go.
This is awesome... I actually have a extra tach to do this. If I did not have my custom glow gadges, I would totally do this... Btw, anyone want to buy a tach?
Parts Geek has them for bout 27 bucks but you'll have to pay shipping as well: 89 1989 Toyota Pickup Oil Pressure Sender - Body Electrical - Beck Arnley, NTC, Sankei Switches, Standard Motor Products - PartsGeek
i have the 4runner gauges in my truck, and recently i made a 500 mile trip to yakima and back. well, on my way back, i actually drove through a washington wildfire at which point my e-brake and battery lights came on. now they go on and off as they please. theres no issue with my battery, e-brake or alternator....is this just a short in the gauges? any help is appreciated.
Lol I read that in another forum I searched after I asked... lol I fired mine I learned... but I also learned how to adjust the tach so I'll get it all working right.... back to the junk yard
Yeah I've had the cluster apart a few times... to think I was going to try and swap a diff tach mech in for it to work with 4cyl I took to this project thinking I've done other cluster swaps and should be plug and play... except the tach issue. Needless to say thank god for the inter webs..... when in doubt search Google!!!
why buy one get one from a wrecking yard all early toyota's have the same oil persure sensor 3vzfe 7mgte 7mge 22re 1 uzfe 5mge the list goes on there all the same
Also some celicas have em very easy access right on the head on top of the motor in plain sight... they are always missing I found 1 out of like 10 cars
