like i mentioned....... this is my 2nd year going on this mod and its held up strong. ive dumped it hard and done countless doughnuts as ive so demonstrated so its been beat tested and held fine. ive launched hard and done everything in between so yea...... i doubt you'll bust one up. there is a guy we did one for on a 7.5 that is running around if not more than 300hp in a tacoma with the same setup, drag racing on slicks and has yet to have any issues with it. he's been running with it for about a year and a half. like mentioned...... most of the breaking happens due to improper prep or improper welds. crank the heat up and make sure that your welds penetrate. to avoid warping pre-heat the third...... if you dont have an oven big enough, set it out in the sun for a few hours on the concrete to let it warm up. dont keep on a bead too long in on area and evenly distribute your welds. here's a few shots of how i did mine. thats the way i was thinking. hmm makes me wonder maybe ill put a little piece of square tubing in the middle. lol
Driftstl.com is my main crowd and we got plenty of guys with more traction issues sticker tires and more horsepower than your ever going to see in a 22r running welded for years.
22rs may not have plenty power but they last longer than any other engine out there, hahah sorry lol i hate it when ppo say 22rs not goin have enough power, (its true tho) lol and yah i kinda wanna do it right the first time around. still thinking about it with my spare axle.
