what I think I just finished negotiating for....500ish hp?

350 bored 30 over,12.5-1 comp pistons (keith black) summit stage two rods with arp rodbolts, clevite race bearings, crane solid roller cam 110 lobe seperation, .63 lift, intake and exhaust, chevy double hump heads with screw in studs, large dual valve springs, the intake is a victor 4+4 crane gold roller rockers, crane retrofit solid roller lifters, crane stud girdle, the block has oil restrictors installed. chrome cheverlet valve covers, stock alternator with new chrome alt brackets, newer stock short waterpump, high volume high pressure oil pump(holds 60psi oil pressure when wrmed up)

find a trans, motor mounts, probably a radiator, driveshaft custom, few positive and negatives hooked up... and then the interesting will be the speedo.

If you can get past thinking only toyota parts will do....

if money wasn't an issue... an ls9... 6.2l supercharged! 600+ hp 500+ torque

now in the real world where money is always an issue... I would look for a 5.3l from a (yukon,silverado,escalade,tahoe...etc)
they can be found with aluminum blocks and stock run from about 275-330hp 300-350ft lbs

I have an 07 silverado steel block for my 05 GTO rat project... got it for $400 off craigs with 300 miles.... 320 hp 350ftlbs stock and with a decent cam almost 400 hp!

stand alone computer systems and aftemarket parts through the roof for it
no distributor in the way... and the emmisions should easily pass in most states
    (screw cali!)

there are a ton of these trucks with this motor around...

    following from wikipedia!

Anyone know the weight of a 1JZwith twin turbos? There is one here for sale for $1000 with trans that I'd love to pick up for my 73.

Hmm, I thought it was hard to get a 22r into a early early truck. Let alone that 6 foot long bastard

    Do et!

Would the weight be comparable to the 2JZ? IDK. AKACOKE posted 2jz's are approx. 600 motor and 750 w/ 5 speed. Might as well have a Big block! :eyecrazy:

Im curious what a 22R is....

the adapter is the most exspensive part really. thats why i'm running the stock auto

but considering how much dual carbs for a 2xr cost, it's not too bad :D

MMM. Ford 302 engine and trans ~ 550
    22R and trans ~ 500.

Im gunna love that swap, get to keep that outstanding handling!

Keep in mind a UZ swap to a 5 speed needs either a custom Bell, or adapter,

AND a modified 1GG (i think) or custom flywheel.

I was reading somewhere that the 1GG (whatever motor that is ) flywheel needs something like the crankbolt holes oblonged, and the starter ring beveled.

Im no expert, look into it. Just info I can recollect right now...

Pro-UZ swap. All aluminum motor that was over engineered with the blessed 4bolt mains and 32valves that scream "oh baby". Early 1uz rods for strength, especially if you wanna turbo/super. Minor chamber porting to remove swirlports to greatly enhance headflow. Remember, FE heads not GE.

The uz is a light bitch relative to the 22r

Btw, viper v10's are all aluminum... But they ARE 8.4liters... That's alot of aluminum. Stick one in the toy... Lol

im a huge supra fan n even tho the engine is pretty hefty the power is insane. traction would be a problem i can imagine. ive read all the engine swaps everyone has mentioned but never seen anyone talk about a 4age. is it not even an option or just not even worth mentioning? p.s. id love 400+ hp lol but i would plan it this being a street truck with some balls

Yup that's why you just pay the smog tech $200 and they're not even a friend. There's a lot of them in Cali that's willing to do it.

    LOL@4AGE

The 4AGE I can give respect for.... but not alot. Why?
Well okay, it's the "OMG" motor from the "OMG AE86 TRUENO SPRINTER OMG OMG OMG!".
    Sure, it's a 1.6L pushing 112hp....@ 6600RPM's... and 97lb.ft...@ 4800RPM's..
    on a 2200lb car.

So anyway, the 22RE pushes 112-6hp@4800RPM's and 145lb.ft@3600RPM's.

If you wanna toss the 4AGE into a hilux, run some short gears... and have fun keeping up with some 22RE's, that is if you would keep up haha.

I'm not bashing on ya, but that's my thing on the "4AGE's and Rolla's"

that's fine until a cop pulls you over for a blow off valve or obviously louder then stock exhaust. They are real hard asses about it in certain places.

they usually pick on the hondas, but a loud vehicle is all it takes to get a cop searching under your hood in cali.
