There is a V8 Hilux involved in tarmac rallying in NZ, google up "Stuart Rose's V8 Hilux" and a couple of Youtube links should come up. Haven't had a chance to view them myself yet but supposedly quite impressive.

Your kit looks nice and complete, I will be getting it as soon as I get the budget all planned out for this thing.

Hey Jake, You ever have any problems with "overspeed" shifts on a w58? I dont remember any problems when I had one, but its been a while...

My L40(I think) 4 speed sometimes gets real hard to shift at 6 grand. Just wondering if you ever had an issue?

And exactly what can a 1uz rev to no problem? They still make good power at redline?

to answer in reverse order. On the stock ecu, witch had a rev limiter of 6500 i think it power dropped off about 5500, so it was a total waste of time revving it past 5500, I now have an eletromotive tec-gt on the supra, and i have my rev limit set to 7500, when playing around i shift at just under that becouse the motor is makeing power all the way into that point, and if i shift it "wrong" i can get the car to go mad sideways in 4th. so its a lot of fun, i do not know what the peak rpm a stock 1uz can rev to and make power, but at 7500 i havent hit valve float, and i have not run out of power, and the transmission does not have any issues shifting at that point.

I may drop the rev limiter and retune the car to find out where the brick wall is :brickknock: in the future but i might not do that for a wile. maybe after the 3ur is done and i can put the supras 1uz in the rolla.

YEAH YEAH YEAH Honestly Im kinda of over having a manual. Been driving one my whole life and sometimes I just wanna cruise and not worry about shifting. Plus with a TRD SC on it I don't give a sh!t. :) There's gonna be plenty of power for me to overtake and toy with the unsuspecting boy racer... So I don't think the manual is gonna net me any more fun. Just more parts to buy and break.

Also I'm tried of doing road trips and my girl not being able to drive.

simple solution, with the 1uz i can drive around anywhere in 5th gear, the 3ur will be even better at this specally with boost, so just stay in 5th, and teach your girl to drive manual :)

eaither way the 3ur in any car will take some rather fast sports cars by supprize, the little poser boy racers, they wont even be worth worrying about.

when your pulling on mkiv turbo supras who cares if your beating hondas with a muffler.

i dont have mesurements of the motor, although i have seen them online before, I do not make adaptors for autos, just adaptors to bolt manual transmissions to the 1uz auto bellhousing, I do xUZ-R154 xUZ-w58 and xUR-R154
