really not a lot as ive never had one, but from what i hear there not any better then toyotas offerings, matt and i where talking about doing a 1uz T56 adpaptor and sorta dropped the idea, Right now im focused on 3UR manual parts so untill thats all done im not toching any other kit designing.

awhh, I was really looking for a T56 adaptor... since the V160/1 are soooo rare.. and since they have a "high demand"... it costs ALOT.

3UR manual... what did that come from?

well the 3ur is the toyota tundra 5.7L motor, and where working on a manual conversion kit for it, I hope to have a 3ur in my supra in the next few months.

Here are a few of the parts in 3D

a 3ur is a competly new motor with a new transmission, there isnt going to be a bellhousing thats going to mate to any transmission. You are going to have to make a bastard plate to mate to the trans, then to the engine and then make a spacer of sorts to extend the pilot out to meet the end of the input shaft and have some sort of spacer on the throw out bearing or move the shift fork farther forwards to be able to engage the clutch fully. either way its going to be a lot of machining..

or if the bell housing of the auto that comes on the tundra is removeable you can make a plate that adapts that bellhousing to the w56/r154 or whatever you decide to use, then you just need to extend the pilot with an adapter and you are good.

then ofcourse a custom machined flywheel that hopefully has a clutch kit that fits it, assuming the crankshaft isnt some werid diamater/bolt pattern that would cause problems.

oh geez... 3UR manual conversions? You'll have plenty of people looking for that :D

I'm sure we've suggest to shove a 3UR in my truck... I know the 1UZ's are barely pushing it, but a 3UR is a pretty effin huge engine (Toyota Dealership had a bodyless chassis in the showfloor.... motor was gigantic.....)

Ya its a really big motor, I think it would be more then diffacult fitting it in the pickup, The Supra on the other hand shouldnt be too big of a deal, Although i fully expect to have to cut somthing to get it in. and ill also have to convert the motor to dry sump as well.

what i meant about room in the engine bay was from the hood to the top of the motor when the plastic motor cover was installed vs. not installed. i'm lookin into this swap but i'm also body dropped and what not. if it's not a stock hood I use, i'd hope to keep it a very small cowl.

ah ok i see what you mean, ya i would say there is less then an inch of clearnace between the hood and the top of the motor, and the oil pan is about the same level as the croos brace so a body drop would prolly couse a cleance problem.

Killer...and great timing! I don't suppose you have a giant pile of bellhousings for those of us with a 1uz and no bellhousing? Im just plotting out my race truck project on paper this week, and picked up an 89 pickup last night....

I do not have a pile of bellhousings for 1uzs i accually need one my self for a display motor im putting togather, gunna cut a large window in it so people can see the kit assembled.

but getting the bellhousigns are easy. there are tons of 1uzs in junk yards just go one day yank it out pull off the bellhousing and jet. ive done it a few times, when i dont care about any of the parts i can have the whole motor and trans out of the car in about 20mins, and have the bellhousing removed from it in 10more mins.

I would love to see a pickup set up for racing with a 1uz, when its all done you better get some good video of it flat out across some flat land for long periods of time.

my supra at 7krpm sounds like an older ferrari
