Ok, so not a concourse restoration then, I was thinking if you found another cab that was rotted out, you could cut the roof through the top of the A-pillar and the top of the B-pillar, then replace the whole roof. Most of the cabs around here are only rotten on the bottom half. Not an easy job but 99% of it is marking it out correctly
Shame you're not in Aussie I have a spare aluminium flatbed. I also have a spare cab but it's the year before 83 so it's not the same.

I wish I were in Aus! The fishing looks incredible! Thank you so much for the thought!

Yes, I’d like to take the path of least resistance with this project, the faster it’s ready and back on the road, the faster I get to go fishing!

I really want to go the aluminum route, I have been doing some R&D and the easiest route right now would be to just bolt wood right to the frame, then use something light like Trex for the decking, however… that may end up being very costly with the current lumber shortage prices. Steel frame with Trex decking may be the way to go, but aluminum is right there in the mix. I’ll have to look more into what others have done and make a choice, just not there yet.

Even I am not that half assed! Nothing is stopping me from going fishing, as that's what I do for a living, but I still want a rad little Yota to rock around in!

Winter stopped the progress on this project, she made it one last year through the snow though! I am actually really surprised that the camper didn't collapse from the weight, we got a lot this year. With spring on its way, I started thinking about the project again, and came up with some rough ideas. I really don't know how it will play out, but I am looking forward to it.

Anyways, here is part 3 of the video series so far.

Here is the 5th and final part of my truck build. I hope that silly old man that was hassling me when I first posted enjoys this video! Life is too short to be a grumpy old person

Great to see it back on the road, that is a weird surge, could be the idle mixture there is a screw on the carb to adjust. You will need to make some ramps now, that tray is big enough to carry another pickup.
