So with all the modification that you have done to the engine, how much hp do you think that you have? I want to do the weber carb 32 36 but i dont know what the benefits are over the stock one as far as performance. I am in between engine swaps or just building the 20r and adding mods like you did. I want like 150 to 200 whp.

Super Sweet! I think matte black on that front grille would look slick. Great work!

I'm probably around 140, but I also jumped compression ratio from 8 to 10:1. In order to climb the hp hill.. I would have needed to go high comp pistons, port match the head to intake, bigger cam, bigger valves. That would have brought is closer to 180-190

stock 20r have about 80hp.. a cam exhaust and carb might give you 20?
they are not hp monster.. at all. the cam exhaust and weber will simply make it flow better.

the grill is black..? if your talking about the outside of the grill I don't share the same opinion. It would look like a 73-76 model which I do not like.

@ MrPhoto: no one builds an R motor because they want crazy power. It's like running a flathead or a banger or a stovebolt or whatever, you run it because it's the "right" motor for the hotrod, not the fastest.

@ tyrap: You continue to amaze. To my eye this is doubtlessly the best looking truck on the forum. Well thought out, well executed and nailing that old-school look and feel.

Well thank you ! sadly this truck might be finding a new home tomorrow. It's time for me to move on.
Although the truck is fun and get looks and very many compliments.. I feel the need to have a better driver.. next one will be a drift missile.. I need to get my driving on.

I know how that goes. I've sold many projects over the years.

What are your plans for a drift car?

Well, unless you plan on painting it, it would tie in the side decals/markings

Awakening an old thread here. What are those little air filters on top of the valve cover? I have a the old school air filter on y carb that looks like a space ship and would like to go with something more attractive, has any one made that change yet? And if so what did you go with?

@tyrap26 Great build. I like the buffing idea instead of new paint.
