Alllllllrighty. So my fuel tank is all rusted on the front side. It can be repaired and is about to be worked on. However, I'm not satisfied paying serious bread for the repairs. I researched and found very little to help complete my mission cheaply, until today. I started looking through a spectra catalog and came across a toyota fuel tank (unspecified fitment) model spectra TO9B.

    Here is a link.
Spectra Premium TO9B Fuel Tank for Toyota Pickup:Amazon:Automotive

Does anybody know if this will fit? I unfortunately don't have the tank in my possession to measure.
    Crossing my fingers.

    Thanks!

From what I've been able to find on what you provided...

That is an 86 + EFI tank

You're gonna need a shortbed tank if you have a shortbed. Or LONGBED for
LONGBED. They were 12 and 16 gallon respectively. I don't think other years bolt right up since the 78 and back frame was a bit different than normal.

    Excellent information, guys. Thanks!

Unfortunately I am having to just repair the one I have. It is a bit costly, but I want it done right. On the bright side, at least it is repairable.

I never liked to two part tanks on these early trucks. The seam always leaks. Or in my case, the tank is smashed on every exposed side from being too low. Only downside is it holds less than it should. Might be a wise time to replace the fuel pump if its the in tank style.

It is in the tank. I tried finding fuel pumps for this and I couldn't. Where should I look? Thanks for the heads up.

Any auto parts store should sell the stock pump. I've replaced a few that way. Only time my bed came off was for a new pump. My cousin has his bed off all the time fiddling with stuff. So that part isn't so bad. Takes two guys to carry it away.

I just installed an aftermarket 24.6 gal tank in my 80 SB. It hangs a little lower, and extends over the drive shaft as well, but i am digging the extra range (or I will, once my engine is sorted). I did a lot of searching for a replacement stock tank, and couldn't find anything which would fit. The junk yard tanks here were at least as bad as mine...no go. I like the new tank quite a lot, but would not recommend it for a lowered truck. If you are lowered, you may want to pursue the fuel cell option in the spare area.
