For some reason they couldn't get it started with the ignition and tore it back to the harness and were shorting it with a piece of scrap wire. They broke the drivers window, broke/tore off my fender mirrors, took my rack and rally mirror, dented the shit out of the front fender and rear bumper, painted the chrome black, sprayed my wheels black. Sounds like there is some vacuum leak now. Smells like shit and there are needles in the glove box...

But I got it back so that is all that really matters. nottoshabi I'm gonna do exactly that also just clear out my garage and keep it there 100%.

Glad to hear you got it back. Still sucks though.

I guess we all gotta think about anti-theft stuff for our trucks. I'm considering one of those locks for the clutch pedal, they're only like $30 and look like a quick device you can slap on there as a deterrent. Luckily I live out in the country, but even out here stuff gets jacked - my next door neighbor had his tractor stolen a few years ago out of his barn, so it happens.

Yeah it’s sucks and I should have been more careful but so just assumed it would get left alone.

The holy trinity of security seems to be an alarm, kill switch and removable steering wheel. I guess I’ll give that a shot but honestly I’m just gonna keep it in my garage from now on.

If you can do a valve in the fuel line hidden between the rails that will be a good deterrent. Most guys really don't want to get on the ground to find your anti theft. And when it comes to cars their knowledge is in steeling them mostly. Not the best mechanics. More systems you kill the better. Probably not something you'll want to do everytime you park up but when you call it a night shut it and run it til it dies. Some of the typical anti theft devices guys know how they can defeat them.

In our trucks there is a fuel relay under the dash you can by pass the solid red line on a switch. Its the power to the fuel pump. The truck will run till the gas will run out of the line, then stop. No one will figure it out, unless you know to listen to the pump noise.

That's what I was about to suggest. Killing the power to the relay before the relay is even better. In other words I've seen ppl Take the relay out all together Everytime they park(not ideal but works for emergencys). I've seen ppl run wires from the relay/fuse box straight to the switch on the dash, not going to help in being discrete. Take your time and use plenty of wire to route the break in the line to the switch. Being creative in this aspect will really pay off.

Fuses and relays are a typical move. Only takes one small wire or any conductor you got to jump it. You really want to run the car out of fuel if your running a carb and cutting the fuel. You may find you car down the street if you don't.

I’ll take some videos of the damage next week but they stripped it past the relay and was able to short the fuel pump and starter at same time to keep it fueled.

Doing a super flush and going from green to red. I noticed I had a bit of a leak on my upper radiator hose. Think I need to replace the thermostat housing all together? I do have a new hose that should be a better fit. 58F42EC8-663C-4D9C-84F3-FB53DBAED466.jpeg

I found a new housing on eBay but I’m probably just gonna leave the manifold alone.

Anyone interested in any homemade cider? I’m on my 6th flush but just managed to crack open the engine block drain plug. Took me two days of hitting it with PB blaster, heating it up, back down, wrench and repeat. 9B57546F-135A-40C9-8086-22A8E8844A5E.jpeg

How well do they bolt up? I’m looking at some Corolla seats right now. Thanks for sharing!
