    Thats awesome!

I'm defintely going to be watching this one.
There is SO much different than the US truck. I have a 71 and it has a different engine for certain.

Please tell me where you got the OEM parts!

    Great build...

As far as I know these trucks were never sold in Portugal ... the few that are (were) around were brought back from Angola and Mozambique. I know of one which came from South Africa, where Toyota had a production plant. On the other hand, the one we bought in Finland was the second to appear in one week ...

They were all bought on Ebay ... I was hoping you guys could help sourcing other parts ;)

Ok, here is what i have. My truck is crusty so its the best I can do.

I think the light background color is a reflective vynil of some sort. Or it has a metal backing.

Swapmeet: Thanks for those measurements ... I already have someone working on that :waytogo:

I'm sorry I have never seen one for sale ... if you lived closer I know of a guy who would machine yours !!! ;)

As for updates ... things are slow at the moment as I am trying to buy some ball-joints and wheel cylinders (but each seller only has one-off each time !!! :brickknock:)

In the meantime I have managed to buy the shocks absorbers locally and I will have the wheels back next week completely finished and brand new tyres mounted :clapping:

    Thanks for the info ...

Today we got the wheels back with the original sized tyres ... 6.00 x 14 at the front and 7.00 x 14 at the back. Initially these were going to be imported (at a small fortune) until a friend discovered them at the back of a warehouse !!!

The spare wheel still has the tube and tyre fitted in Angola back in ... 197?

damn dude. this thing looks awesome. i was going to say if you havent ruled it out, the trucks up to 78 use the same frame. and had disc brakes up front. albeit under rated. still better than drums. not sure if that era is available over there.

and i totally dig the pink plain shirt. :D

Just a small update ... while I'm still waiting for the body-shop to do their bit, I've now started to work on embellishing the motor ...

This truck is fitted with the Toyota "12R" 1600cc motor ...

I bought a small sand blasting system to help me clean all the small parts and aluminum covers before polishing ...
