Check if any of the plugs are fouled... Timing set to 8* without vacuum advance. If there are no vacuum leaks you should be able to tune it using...
The stock stuff already is a cold air drawing system... Unless your missing some factory flex tubing...
Not sure about the smoking part.... I'd check for any trouble codes and if the timing is correct first. Compression, fuel pressure, coolant leak...
