Its a bolt on (as far as I have ever found) if you have a different w5x trans just different gearing.
As far as I'm aware its still the same truck ... just with a flare at the wheels.

I assume you have bent and broke part(s) where the shifter goes into the trans.. I recomend starting there to try and diagnose.
