    its the cable. tranny is fresh rebuild with a new gear assembly, cable inside is rusted and broken at the tranny mount. Thanks for the info...

    Anyone have a source besides Toyota ($80 yikes) for a speedometer cable? 81 Toyota pick WITH cruise control. Or know what years/makes might have...

    I bet it had ALOT to do with gas prices.....kept me from going anyway.. Not for long tho :) fixing to do a natural gas conversion on the 22r :D
