i dont disagree with you, i just dont like the way a weld rusts so fast, unless you use an oxide primer and so on, but i just think glueing it is...
i would used some panel adhesion rather then a weld and then paint it with some por15, you'll never have to worry about it again!

if im not mistaken, your bolt pattern is 5x114.5 and the rim you have is 5x112, i might be wrong im not sure but i know thats what my rim is on my 93.
