One month of testing and a few loose ends later it's back to daily driver reliability. Handles amazing. No body roll what so ever. 1500lbs in the bed and it starts to ride comfortably. No weight and it'll hurt your back. The 410 gears made it a lot peppier too.
Hey! I just noticed... Is that a front bumper.bolted on to tge front bumper but upside down? That actually looks pretty good. What a fun idea...
YOOOOO I just saw that upside down mod!! Good way to be original!! It does look pretty good!! Almost looks like a great place to put an intercooler if your were running boost!! As for the ride quality, I'm guessing you added the 1 ton leafs?? Honestly, that's why I like the shorter wheel base. Our tires actually absorb a lot of the initial impacts when going down the road, so twice the tires will stiffen things up a bit.. glad to see it back on the road!
Also noticed you went from 5 to 6 lug, was that a simple spindle swap? Did you have to swap the idler arm and brakes too?
The front is the one ton torsions, calipers with brackets, rotors, hubs and sway bar. All of which was a direct bolt on with no modifications needed. Everything else is exactly the same.
The rear springs required welding the front spring hanger brackets from the RV. The e-brake cables also had to be shortened. I also had to order custom u-bolts for the 3 inch blocks and larger leafs.
Dang that's good info. Even for someone tryna do the opposite and go from 6 to 5 for more wheel options.
