the starter has one mail plug for the starter wire but also has a small terminal with a screw to connect a wire. I am wondering what the screw connector is for and how to connect it. It's the terminal under the blue wire. Thanks Fix it up
There should be spot for a heavy gauge wire from the battery and a small wire that is the starter trigger wire from the ig ition switch
Upon more testing the screw terminal sends a 12 volt current when the starter is turning over but quits when its not cranking. No idea what is suppose to be sending power too for that cranking time. Fix it up
Check your factory wiring diagram. If you have an in tank fuel pump that could be part of the bypass circuit. Keep in mind this starter could be used on different applications besides your particular engine. If no obvious extra wire hanging loose, I’d just ignore it.
Sounds like Fred hit the mail on the head. It's probably for the bypass circuit. It's set up to send current to the pump while cranking
Thanks Guy's I ignored it and it works fine. I put a separate pump and switch when I installed it in the Bombi. 10 times the engine that was in it.
