thanks for the link, how was the fit?

I should have the last of the parts to finish up the carb swap this week. I also got the remainder of the exterior parts I was waiting on so I’m really looking forward to finishing it all up.

I wanted to see what people’s opinions on a 5 speed swap is? Finding 5 speed 2wd transmissions around me isn’t easy or cheap so just curious if it’s worth the time and effort. And if it is which 5 speed would be my best bet?

I really don’t think I’ll ever tow anything with it.

Get the w55/w56. If you want shorter 1st and 2nd, then go for a later model w56.

The only fitment issue was one of the bolts on the steering box was rubbing so I flipped it, otherwise good to go.

I’ve been slowly working on it when I have had time. I got it all back together and did get it to run with the Weber carb but soon found a few coolant leaks so I’m in the middle of fixing that.

another issue the truck has had since purchasing was the blower motor didn’t work, found it to be a bad resistor, but the more another part is none of the HVAC controls move. I’m not sure if the cables are stuck or the actual mechanism they turn. I really don’t want to pull the dash apart to find out.

scratch that I figured out why nothing would move, it’s all packed full of mouse houses! I pulled the blower motor and found this.
FBDB13AB-B9E3-46F5-923B-1FE4E2F06D50.jpeg Looks like I may have to pull the dash to clean to all out after all. Unless someone could give me a tip on removing the HVAC stuff otherwise.

also in the process of tearing it all apart I found this what looks to be original brown vinyl under the outdoor carpet someone laid down.

Also if anyone were to have HVAC controls for a pickup with AC they’re looking to part with mines all messed up!

A little before and after of the engine bay. It could definitely still use some tidying up but man does it feel good to be where it’s at now.

I also picked up this ‘74 Yamaha DT250 as a new summer project. Fits well with the Toyota.

At this point I need to continue cleaning out the HVAC system. Otherwise I wanna lower it. As long as these wheels clear the drop spindles I’m going to keep them and put a larger tire on the rear to give me some more highway speed back.

Not a whole lot to update but I installed a Holley fuel pressure regulator, sorted out my fuel line issues and through on a front breather from K&N. Now I have proper pressure for the Weber and the gas tank is venting properly. Truck is running mint now.

This truck has come along way from the old dirty beater work truck it was when I first got it.

It’s amazing what a few cosmetic changes really does.

yeah it’s growing on me for sure. It’s fun bringing something back to life. I realize I’m not doing anything someone else hasn’t done before but it keeps me busy.

People running Webers, what’s your timing set at?

Removed the old mouse infested brown house carpet and scrubbed the interior today. Very pleased with the results.

I wish these seats weren’t so beat up because they’re comfortable. Anyone have any idea if these are stock or from another vehicle?
