so the 22ret was not much fun ????

I am pretty sure a trubo will make me pretty happy

only issue I find with the mk3 sub is it might make the truck sit high ?

My 22ret was very fun. The guy I sold it to is having a blast with it in his celica. A 22ret with a turbo upgrade and standalone would be awesome.

I prefer the 1uz because they are a dime a dozen here, very reliable, put down power without drama and sound awesome with the right exhaust.

most 1UZ->W5x adapters are roughly $1000 or less.

I'd rather produce reliable power from a 1UZ or any Toyota V8 than to push more power out a 22RE/RET, regardless of how much power you can make. Standalone on a 22RE would cost you roughly $1000 to boot if you find a system cheap enough. At that point, you're going to lose a ton of reliability from the 4-cylinder if you push it that far, when the 4.0L V8 would make that power, with no addons.

    Consistency.

Funny part is the sprint 500 cost a little under 1000 and can be used on a toy v8 if I choose to go that way....and lex v8 swap might as well do r154 at the same time since it will help with weight.

but in the end I have stuiped dumb fast car all ready.. so haven a truck the same way is kinda point less... so 200 hp and I would be happy and doing that in a 22re and can be done all day long.

if I was to do a swap thou I still have the 3 rotor n/a in the back of my head

    So,
Over the weekend I visited one of our local junkyards that has a 85 4x4. I've seen it a few weeks ago but never walked over to investigate because I could see from a distance that it was just a frame and stripped cab. Lately I have wanted to swap out my sliding rear window for a solid window so I went to check out this old 4x4 that has been sitting there for weeks. Unfortunatley it had the same sliding window I have BUT it had the SR5 cluster! Scored it for $8 bucks.
Took it home, added super white leds and wired up the Tach.

The tach works perfectly with the 1uz because the 1uz's tach signal is the same pulse as a 4 cylinder.
In other news, a few days later my front crank seal gave up the ghost. It's leaking oil like BP in the Gulf. Luckily, I was only 2 miles from home when it started. Gonna swap in a new seal tonight.

Gonna remove the redundant oil and temp gauges I have installed in the radio pocket and mount a cupholder from ebay there. I will mount the aftermarket temp gauge in the pillar pod but it will monitor oil temp.

    Hey Nash,
The caliper clears the rotor hub by 3/4"

Sorry it took so long. Had two serious vehicle issues that needed my full attention.

I got them from ebay. Search led T10 bulbs. You could get them for as little as 7 bucks for 20 lights.

What caliper/rotor combo is that? Nissan 300/350 parts I assume? Can't find the post covering it. They look about as big as a 16" will allow. I have a 4runner caliper and 12.6" town car rotor combo. Clears 16s.

The rotors are from a 1994 mazda mpv (rwd) and the caliper is a 300zx z32. The pads fram a 94 landcruiser contact the rotor surface perfectly. Setup works very well.

Here is a crappy in cab video of a highway merge.

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/5h2JBG_ttmo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Didn't fully get on it because it has developed some very nasty wheel hop. Found out yesterday that I have a bent lower leafspring on the passenger side. Don't know haw it happened.
Will get some outside video of the truck very soon. My hooning partner has been working alot of hours and doesn't have the time.
