What's going on fellow Toyomini subs. I just recently finished the webber install, and emissions delete on my 77 pickup. I have a few questions on a couple loose strings that I can see. There is an air line that runs around and behind the motor, ( I believe it was from the smog pump) between the firewall and motor. Can I cap this, or remove it entirely? Also, these are few extras that I didin't remove in fear of something not working correctly. I believe one is the relay for the fuel pump? The other connects to the charcoal canister (top one). Can I remove all of these without any issues? Finally, I currently have the inlet on the weber air cleaner capped of as I was told that the pcv hose should be connected here. That doesn't make sense to me as you have a chance of oil getting into the cleaner and gumming everything up. Does it make more sense to T into the vacuum line currently going from the brake booster to the intake? Much thanks for your help and input! JC
Visual inspection would likely be where you fail. Technically even in Texas, where my truck doesn't even remotely have to be smogged ('82), if the inspector is a dick, he can fail my vehicle because the engine vacuum lines don't match the sticker under the hood. Last guy told me to just remove the sticker, or make a new one that follows what's there.
Did you cap off that airline that runs behind the engine? Is this the line that connects to the exhaust manifold? I just purchased a set of pacesetter headers for my 20r and I see it has he connects for this line. I'm debating about welding them shut since I'm deleting all of the emissions stuff at the same time I'm installing the weber.
