I dont know. The tires are still on them at the moment.

Ive been up to this and that lately....

I lost my camera, so no colorado pics for now.

I went thru the 302 again, full of lubriplate 105 and grit. The lube turned into goo/ chalk and I didnt use it again.

Got a gt40 head ready to go with a refresh, new viton seals, and installed the hi-lift springs I had. Need to do the other one.

Pulled the front subframe out of the celica after getting it in my garage. Gunna fab my own crossmember, for a front sump engine. Im picking up the steel tomorrow.

    And a pic or two...

Im thinking I should notch the firewall to get room for the bell, and move the motor back 3 inches...

--This isnt the end of the v8 truck, just a delay--

Thanks man! Complements are the fuel that keeps me working on these rigs.

And as obvious as it is now, Im extreamly indecisive!!

I get that from my mother. :p

And today I got my Mikita Saws-all and removed a good section of the firewall/trans tunnel in the celica. Yesterday I pulled the dash and carpet, made the cuts a few hrs ago.

So now im past the point of no return and have to get the 302 swapped into it.

O and I found my camera, so stay tuned for alot of pics.

    Ok time for an update.

Ive been trying to work on the celica for about a week now, but its cold, and my hands got soo burnt a few days ago welding they bleed.. :eyecrazy: my fault. Shoulda worn gloves.

Soo here it goes. To make the 302 fit nice, I had to move it down and back 3inches. The trans tunnel wasnt nearly big enough, so had to "modify" it.

    engine sitting back far enough.

Some steel I bought to make a crossmember, and a underframe for the whole car.

The chassis is way to loose for 400+ horsepower.

cleaned, cut and welded subframes in, just didnt get a pic with it in. Went here,

And I did get my special flywheel and valve covers in from ebay about a week ago.

I sold my cannon intake and doug thorley also. Dont worry I got money out of them.

    GRRR!!

The truck blew the carrier bearing (like gone), last night. So its out of commision. Ive had enough of those so im going to install a 1 pc shaft. (might as well swap in the G code while Im at it). 4.10s, 4.30s, LSD or open...I cant decide. :D

I got my mustang back in service, had to replace a flowmaster, some welding, and a hanger. 60 bucks from my buddy at the muffler shop.

I went to Ford and got my clutch bolts and dowells for the 302 celica. Got the block to bellhousing dowells too.

I bought a 82,000 mile T5 for the celica. trans, mount, bell, fork, shifter, and a complete driveshaft for 400. Out of a 94 mustang GT.

Going to be fabbing like mad tomorrow so stay tuned. :waytogo:

    Nice project.

If I can offer some advice, don't go Centerforce. They are overpriced for what they are, and they don't actually come as complete kits. If you haven't bought it already, maybe go with McLeod or Ford Motorsports or something similar. I've been playing with 302s a lot lately, and running mostly those clutches with good luck. I'll hook you up with one at a discount if it keeps you from Centerforce. I smoked one of them quick in a race car on a test day, went to Ford Motorsports and its lasted several races since.

    Thanks bud.

Im not set on a centerforce. I just dont know what to get. A buddy has a McLeod in his 05 Turbo mustang. He bought the best top shat clutch that was supposed to be rated at 1000 hp. Really expensive too.

His wheel dyno'd 700 hp cooked the crap out of it on the Texas Mile. Hmmm.

Anyway I didnt show a pic of how the rail thingeys turned out...

Still need to brace it up front and rear, but waiting till I do the rear crossmember for that.

And I finished my trans mount/ crossmember.

On a side note. Last night I put a 4.10 gear in my mustang. It had 2.73 in it.

Want to talk about sheer grunt!!! 1st gear cant hook at all. Zero traction. Sideways thru second.

Im gunna like that in a thousand pound lighter car with the traction to use it!

    Yea kinda did.

A friend of a Rickys wanted to buy it. He gave me a deposit, then shortly after that he lost his job.

Been several months now (like oct.) and I figure he's out.

Works out fine though cuz I blew up the trucks driveshaft again.:nana:

    Curse of the longbed...

    ^^ Eww. Yellow...

Sorry guys for the lack of progress. Ive been working alot. A crap ton actually, but its been worth it soo far.

Ive been driving my stang for over a month. I love that 4.10. But I have gotten too used to it and it feels slow again.

Anyways, a few days ago I drove my truck around the block (driveshaft howling like a SOB)...

I was actually very surpised haw bawlzy it is. I just had to share. :nana:

I got a quote on a 1pc. driveshaft for the truck 225-250 bucks built and balanced. Im really thinking about it. Maybe this weekend.

    Swap progress!

Well, I ended up buying an AE86 crossmember instead of building one.

Tonight I cut the mounts off and got the car ready for the front sump crossmember. It has power rack and pinion mounts on it too. So either one of those, or make it manual steer.

I would take some pics if my camera worked :brickknock:

    Moar swap progress, truck update.

Soo today I finished welding mounts onto the crossmember.

And I cleaned up the AE86 spindle/strut tubes so I can put coilovers on them.

Watch'ya think? Still needs cleaned and painted...

After that, my dad showed up (driving my truck) unnanounced and said he needed to use it. (for a long commute to work).

I have to get it fixed tomorrow, so another driveshaft carrier bearing goes in. And Ill pull the rear blocks out so he can carry some tools.
