lol the BBK for the supra kit came into mind a loonnnngg time ago. you then will need bigger wheels to fit.

i think you just need to play with tie rod length and all

yea if the ackerman arm length or angle is significantly different (IE massive, undrivable toe when the spindles are on) you essentially created a massive bump steer condition from different length and angles on the control arms vs tie rods. stiffer shocks and springs will help by minimizing movement (less bump=less steer) but they're just covering the problem, not fixing it. just swapping the UCAs or just the rack won't fix it.

I just talked to a friend of mine who pioneered that swap 4-5 years ago, he said he didn't have any handling issues or bumpsteer. Perhaps it was in the installation?

    rear discs

I found out that year one makes a Chevy rear disc conversion that will fit inside 14's. Maybe that fact will help somebody on TM:shrug:

Well I figured out the bumpster problem, and am glad to have it fixed.

from the origional trucks configuration, the tie rod ends sit on the top of the steering arms. This is where I had installed them on the origional supra spindles that were giving me all the problems.
From what was happening I decifered that in relation to the trucks origional spindles, and the Supras spindles, the steering arms sit about an 1.5" higher on the supras.

So I went back to Pick n Pull and got another set. This time I installed the tierods from below the steering arm, and raked back the caster a couple degrees. The geometry is not perfect, but I am glad that I am now not scared out of my mind to drive the thing.

how did you manage the whole tapered-stud/tapered-hole problem? ream out the hole so the tie rod goes in the other way or flip the spindles or what?

the truck tie rod is much bigger then the supra, so i'd imagine he reamed it the opposite direction to fit.

So, nobody else has any experience with this swap?

When he went back to pick n pull for "another set", did he get a set of original supra tie rod ends?.... meaning the only necessary mod was for the lower bj?

    Haha, so many questions.
